The Best Way To Prep For SATs

Most people know that SATs are college admissions tests.  These tests are offered a couple of different times throughout the year for people who want to attend college.  SATs are a battery of tests that challenge skills that you have already learned in high school.  Generally, if you did well in your classroom studies, chances are you will do well on the SAT as well.

The first thing you need to do is to decide when you want to take the test.  Go to the College Board website.  This is the best source of information on the SAT.  Here you will find when the tests are being given, how much the tests are, how to register, study help and practice tests.  You can also get information on your scores after the test here as well.

Talk to your guidance counselor if you are still in high school.  Sometimes they have practice questions that they can give you for free.  If you are not in school, you can go to your local library and find sample questions and tests, and even check out books about taking the SAT.  You can also find a plethora of free tests and questions online as well.

Try taking the test in sections before you take the full length practice SAT.  You want to take these practice tests just as if you are really taking the SATs.  Use timers to follow the limits that are set for that particular test.  After scoring your test, go back and read all the answers, including the ones that you got right.

Even if you think that you will ace the SAT it would still be in your best interest to take some practice tests.  The best advice anyone can give to take this test is to practice, practice and more practice.
